Traffic Camera Services

We are helping the Victoria Police to reduce the road toll by deploying effective traffic offence detection and processing systems. The cameras are part of an integrated multi-channel approach to change driver behaviour.

Traffic cameras are a key component of the State's road safety strategy. Speed is estimated to be a factor in more than a quarter of road crashes that result in fatalities or serious injuries.

Our traffic camera system is helping to improve road safety and support civic compliance, by ensuring that traffic camera and enforcement management services operate in a cost-effective way for the state while:

• providing reliable services for detecting and enforcing traffic and other infringements; and
• providing ongoing flexibility to accommodate changes in legislation, policy and business needs.

Using mobile and fixed safety cameras, Serco will keep the roads of Victoria, Australia safe by capturing unsafe drivers on film.

During the second year of the contract Serco is introducing new digital cameras and a new back office processing system. These advanced systems will be used to support the Infringement Court, the Sheriff's Operations and the Victoria Police to encourage changes in driver behaviour.
