Serco takes its corporate responsibilities seriously and strives to be known as a company that lives by its values, is ethical and has a positive impact on society. We have set two strategic objectives to help us make this vision a reality.

Strategic objective 1: Provide Employee Volunteering Leave

Our employees support causes close to their hearts by volunteering or fundraising for charities and causes in their local communities.  Serco supports these volunteer efforts by offering two days volunteering leave each year to our permanent employees. They can choose to volunteer with their colleagues or to do something individually.

Strategic objective 2: Donate one per cent of our pre-tax profits every year

Reflecting our commitment to making a positive impact on our people and communities, we have set ourselves a global target of investing one per cent of our pre-tax profits back into wider society each year.

In 2015, this amounted to AU$1,880,000 (£962,000) in donations to community projects and charities worldwide as well as the donation of assets and time.

We also have a Payroll Giving Program enabling employees to donate directly from their pay packets to charities in Australia and New Zealand.

Making a positive difference in the communities we serve

To mark our 25th anniversary in 2013, we established the Serco Foundation. The Serco Foundation works with charities to help them realise their ambitions and achieve even more. Through our global initiative, ‘Every Child Everywhere’, and with the help of our employees, we are committed to playing our part in helping to give children the best start in life.

In 2014 just over AU$960,000 (£500,000) was raised for nine regional charities selected by our employees. In Asia Pacific The Serco Foundation supported CanTeen in Australia, KidsCan in New Zealand, and Po Leung Kuk in Hong Kong, to make a significant contribution to the lives of children in need.
