Serco entered the New Zealand market in 2011, providing essential services to the New Zealand Government.
In late 2010 it was announced that Serco had won its first contract in New Zealand at Mt Eden Correctional Centre. Starting in August 2011, the 10-year contract sees Serco providing full facilities management at the prison, including safety, security, infrastructure management and rehabilitation programmes for prisoners.
This contract is the only one of its kind in New Zealand Government for the management of prisons. Serco is proud to have been selected as the service provider and looks forward to a long and successful working relationship with the Government.
