Broad-based, multi-function direct service delivery
Serco Sodexo Defence Services (SSDS) was formed in 1993 as a 50/50 joint venture company owned by Serco Australia and Sodexho. They provide a very diverse range of support services to all branches of the Australian Defence Force.
SSDS directly employs thousands of Australians and engages hundreds of local industry providers for direct service delivery under contract to bases and facilities for supplies, equipment and a range of other services.
During times of increased activity or crisis, the Australian Defence Force often requires an immediate and urgent response from SSDS to supply additional services. For more than a decade, SSDS has successfully supported major military exercises and deployment including, East Timor, Bougainville, Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan. They have also provided natural disaster assistance in Australia, South East Asia after the 2004 tsunami and humanitarian relief during the Bosnian refugee crisis.
