Logistic and base support in the Middle East
Serco began a contract with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to provide logistics and base support services in the Middle East in 2011. The initial contract is for a two year period.
Serco is delivering fully integrated support for ADF bases to ensure the provision of high-quality services in areas such as maintenance and ground refuelling, together with catering, accommodation and other support functions.
Serco already provides support under multi-activity contracts for the armed forces in the UK, US, Canada, Germany and Australia. We have supported the ADF for more than 15 years providing: garrison support services to the army; maritime engineering and technical services to the navy; and logistics, engineering advice and aircraft maintenance support to the air force. We also have 60 years of experience providing services in the Middle East, including air traffic control, metro operations and support for higher education establishments.
This contract delivers more efficient logistic support services by replacing a number of existing contracts and standing offers with a single prime contractor.
