Manpower and Professional Services

Serco Manpower and Professional Services (MAPS) has provided a range of services to the Royal Australian Air Force at bases across the country since 1992.

RAAF Amberley

Serco provides engineering standards policy advice and development services to the RAAF. Staff are also deployed as Senior Maintenance Managers to detachments on a temporary basis. This involves managing an integrated technical workforce; ensuring airworthiness of electronic systems; managing the certification and authorisation of trades people; and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

RAAF East Sale and Edinburgh

Serco provides support to Maintenance Control Sections at RAAF Base East Sale and Edinburgh. Our duties involve generating service schedules, managing work orders, coordinating equipment calibration, maintaining service records and updating technical documentation. 

Staff at Edinburgh also assist the RAAF in operating the repairable and consumable item stores. This involves packing, unpacking, stocktaking, organising repairs, replenishing items, and reporting. 

RAAF Williamtown 

RAAF Base Williamtown is home to 81WG. The Wing comprises of three Hornet squadrons and one of Hawk trainer aircraft. Base personnel number around 2,500 including civilian support staff and aircraft maintainers. 

Serco MAPS personnel have been providing valuable support in all areas of aircraft maintenance for over ten years. Working closely within aircraft squadrons, MAPS personnel provide experience, guidance and technical expertise in a wide variety of fields. 

Activities include:

• Maintaining Hornet, Hawk and F111 Alternate Mission Equipment including bomb racks, missile launchers and pylons.
• Auditing of Authorised Maintenance Organisation compliance and procedures for Defence within 44WG HQ.
• Direction and supervision of defence members in relation to production, procedures and OH&S matters in various locations. 
• Maintenance management roles in both the Aircraft Structural Repair Section and 3SQN Alternate Mission Equipment Maintenance Section.
